This is a 36 x 48 inch gallery wrapped original oil painting by Guy Crittenden. This is the Jackson River in Bath County, Virginia. I was very interested in capturing the mood of the sky and warm valley landscape. The edges are painted with the continuation of the image.

About Guy Crittenden

Guy Crittenden

Guy Crittenden grew up fishing and hunting on the Chesapeake Bay in Gloucester, Virginia. He raised waterfowl at his childhood home on the shores of the Ware River, crabbed in the shallows along the tidal sandbars, and learned about wildlife and the ways of watermen from his grandfather. Guy began to draw and paint as a teenager and it was no surprise that his favorite subject matter was the native wildlife and nature he experienced in his boundless backyard. All of those childhood experiences had a profound impact on Guy and has influenced his art and photography throughout his life. As a high school athlete, Guy caught the eye of college coaches, and attended The College of William and Mary on a full Football scholarship. He continued...
