Artist's Description
This painting was inspired by a fishing trip to Costa Rica. We used underwater cameras to photograph the big Pacific Sailfish as they came near the boat. Quite an experience. I tried to capture their behavior of rounding up bait fish for an easy feeding session. I love the clear blue waters of the ocean depths.
About Guy Crittenden
Guy Crittenden grew up fishing and hunting on the Chesapeake Bay in Gloucester, Virginia. He raised waterfowl at his childhood home on the shores of the Ware River, crabbed in the shallows along the tidal sandbars, and learned about wildlife and the ways of watermen from his grandfather. Guy began to draw and paint as a teenager and it was no surprise that his favorite subject matter was the native wildlife and nature he experienced in his boundless backyard. All of those childhood experiences had a profound impact on Guy and has influenced his art and photography throughout his life. As a high school athlete, Guy caught the eye of college coaches, and attended The College of William and Mary on a full Football scholarship. He continued...
