2016 California Duck Stamp Acrylic Print

This is the winning painting from the 2016 California Waterfowl Stamp contest. "Snows over Butte Sink" is an original oil painting measuring 13 x 18 and the original is available for $6,500.

Guy Crittenden grew up fishing and hunting on the Chesapeake Bay in Gloucester, Virginia. He raised waterfowl at his childhood home on the shores of the Ware River, crabbed in the shallows along the tidal sandbars, and learned about wildlife and the ways of watermen from his grandfather. Guy began to draw and paint as a teenager and it was no surprise that his favorite subject matter was the native wildlife and nature he experienced in his boundless backyard. All of those childhood experiences had a profound impact on Guy and has influenced his art and photography throughout his life.
